Product review : ATC5k vs Helmet Hero Wide

atcvshhw.jpg

The two most popular cameras on the market are the Oregon Scientific ATC5K and the Gopro Helmet Hero Wide.

They are both self containned (no cables), record on SD card, waterproof and designed to be attached to any type of helmet.
At Action Cameras, one of the very frequently asked question is:
what is the difference between these two cameras?

Check this video, you’ll have our comparaison on top of a split screen with ATC5k footage and Helmet Hero Wide footage.

ap-urge-kenya-fev.jpg image17.jpg
The climb will take 3 days. Each rider will be associated with a porter (the porter takes care of the gear, but every pilot will carry his bike).
This climb will be the opportunity for the riders to recognize the track. There will just be some flags in case of foggy weather.
image7.jpg image15.jpg
The climb will also be the opportunity of a real human exchange between the rider and his porter, though some learning of the Swali language. Good learning will give a time bonus !!!

This a different way to approach competition.

The starts will be individual, so each pilot will race against time.
All the pilots will be geared with a helmet camera POV.1 from actioncameras, to get amazing video footage from the event !!!

Our partner will be ACORD International. We already supported human projects in Africa with the royalties of «VTT autour du monde», written by Fred Glo.
ACORD has been recommended by our present partners in Africa, being already a strong actor in Kenya.

We found on the internet this video shoot with the Helmet Hero Wide.
This video is so good, we had to share it with you !!

Have you ever done/seen freestyle skiing?
If not you’ll be surprised to see what can be done on skis.
If yes, you’ll like it even more this Tom Wallish is really good !!

Cold Resistant Batteries

Are you taking your Action Camera out skiing or snowboarding???
I quick tip from us; you should use Lithium-ion batteries as these aren’t affected by the low temperatures. If you use regular Alkaline batteries then you’ll notice that the battery life will only be a few minutes as soon as you expose it to the temperatures. The plus side is that (while more expensive) the Lith-ion batteries do last about 2 to 3 times longer then the regular ones.
So to make sure that your batteries can last as long as you do, click here to get yourself some Lith-ion Batteries!
Enjoy the slopes!

It’s a New Year… Time to hit the slopes!

Who says the festive season has come to an end!?
Now that we’ve had some snow in the UK, we’re sure that everyone is getting excited about heading out to tackle the black slopes – and filming all of their speed, jumps and wipe outs!
Even if you’re just taking the kids out for the first time then an Action Camera is essential for capturing all those special memories.
Either way, please send all of your footage to us to make us jealous. The good news for you is that we’ll upload all the best footage onto the website for everyone else to see.
Enjoy the snow!
